XVII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2008), August 3-8, 2008, Mexico City, Mexico.The conference will feature important new scientific research and dialogue on the major challenges facing the global response to AIDS. Sessions will be held to develop strategies to expand delivery of HIV prevention and treatment to communities worldwide. The six-day conference will be available online with the support of kaisernetwork.org and the International AIDS Society.

Many Stories, One Voice Conference, September 4-7, 2008, New Orleans, LA. Hosted by the Institute for Welcoming Resources of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the conference is a leadership development event that offers strategies around relationship-building, skills-building, reflective and incisive theological analysis, and strategic action. Rev. Debra Haffner, Director of the Religious Institute, will be a keynote speaker. Tim Palmer, Director of Research and Communications, will present a workshop called "New Research on Progressive Congregations and Seminaries - and What it Means for You." There will also be a pre-conference gathering called For Such a Time as This for personal networking, community collaboration, and movement building among transgender people of faith, loved ones and allies.

Sexuality and the Life of Faith, September 13-14, 2008, Plymouth Congregational Church, Fort Wayne, IN. The United Church of Christ and the Christian Community will present sessions and workshops around sexuality issues and sexuality education within faith communities. Rev. Haffner will present "God's Gift of Sexuality" as the keynote speaker on September 13 and will preach on September 14.

Taking Time for Teens, September 24-26, 2008, Atlanta, GA. The 12th annual Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (GCAPP) Conference includes Rev. Haffner as a keynote speaker. Other speakers will discuss engaging young men and fathers in adolescent pregnancy prevention.
